Conformance status
We design and build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard referenced by EN 301 549 and the EU Web Accessibility Directive. We assess conformance by self-evaluation: accessibility is built into our design system and components, and we check our key pages. A formal third-party WCAG 2.1 AA audit is planned. On that basis, this site is partially conformant — it meets most requirements, and we are actively working toward full conformance.
What we've done
Accessibility is built in from the ground up, not retrofitted:
- Semantic HTML with a single, clear heading structure on every page.
- Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
- A "skip to content" link as the first focusable element on the page.
- High-contrast body text (dark on light) throughout, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Form fields with associated labels, clear required-field indicators, and error messages.
- A responsive layout that reflows to small screens and zoom without loss of content.
Known limitations
We would rather be candid about where we are still improving:
- Some brand-blue interface elements — buttons, links and section labels — do not yet meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1. Improving this while preserving our brand identity is on our remediation list.
- A formal, independent WCAG 2.1 AA audit has not yet been completed.
- Downloadable documents (for example, PDF datasheets) may not yet be fully tagged for screen readers.
We aim to address these through our ongoing work and the planned formal audit.
